About Us

Hello, and welcome to my little online shop! My name is Sally and I live in Manitoba, Canada with my husband and 4 children (3 boys, 1 girl). Growing up I always enjoyed designing, creating and playing with colours, which led me to study fashion design in college. When my husband and I started our family, I decided to focus my energy on my family and my home, and I put everything else on hold. As my children have grown, I have slowly begun to look for new ways to do what I love. This led me to take an online course which brought me to Germany to complete my certification as a 'Colour and Style' consultant.

I recently got back into sewing, starting off with a quilting project. I have discovered such an amazing world of creative people as well as many beautiful fabrics and therefore I decided to open my own little shop with fabrics that inspire me.

Why 'Glasswing'? I have always had the desire to look at something ordinary, find the real beauty in it and show it to the world. The wings of a 'Glasswing Butterfly' are uniquely transparent for it's own protection, but they also allow you to see the beautiful nature upon which the butterfly depends. My hope is that my 'Glasswing' shop will in turn inspire you to be creative and make your world more beautiful, one stitch at the time.
